COMPANY HISTORY


Lucas Cartage & Storage, Inc., offers a wide range of logistical & support services including warehousing, distribution, packaging, quality sorting, rework, product inspection, and transportation. We can provide a mix of services or we can just the location for your organization to utilize. In addition, we are ISO 9001:2000 certified and familiar with the AIB standards.

 We accommodate both large and small clients, both local and international. Our client base includes companies from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Italy, Japan, Korea, and the USA. Our clients represent industries from automotive to music.

Our three locations total 347,750 square feet with one 52,500 square foot section designed for refrigeration, if needed. In addition, we have twenty nine acres bordering our main location for expansion purposes and “built to suit.”

We can provide services that meet any of our customer’s needs. Primarily we provide full service warehousing or we can provide a building for an operation to stand-alone with the option of limited support. We offer a full range of transportation services including local, long haul, and intermodal. Our equipment includes flatbed, tanker, dump trailer, lowboy, chassis, and van.

Our facilities are located in Elizabethtown, Kentucky approximately 1.1 mile from Interstate 65, exit 91 and 42.5 miles from Louisville, Kentucky Airport.

1974 Kevin Lucas founded Kevin Lucas Trucking, Inc.
1994 Kevin Lucas Trucking purchased 11 acres at 308 Steel Drive for the transportation business.​
1998 Kevin Lucas purchased 8.8 acres with 5,000 square foot of storage space at 510 Assembly Drive in Elizabethtown, KY.
1999 Kevin Lucas built a 100,000 square foot warehouse and founded Lucas Cartage & Storage, Inc.
1999 Lucas Cartage & Storage, Inc. added 57,750 square foot to the existing 100,000 square foot building.
2000 Started outside frame storage at Steel Drive location.
2001 Started 24 hour JIT inventory control and delivery operation.
2001 Started product transferring for automotive suppliers.
2001 Started bulk container breakdown.
2002 Started quality sorting and reworking for the automotive industry.
2003 Extended quality operations to include rust and excess RP removal.
2004 Completion of phase #1 (52,500 sf) of new building. The completed building is 105,000  square foot, bringing the company's total square foot to 267,750.​
